The sun finally poked it's head out this weekend and I was extremely thrilled to say the least. It was the perfect reminder that summer is coming! Samantha French's work is some of the most captivating paintings I've seen in a while. I can feel cool rush of water already!

My favorite time to swim at the beach in Los Angeles is around 4-5pm..everyone is packing up and it gets really calm and quiet. Growing up my dad used to take us to the beach at this time so we could have a brief swim while the rest of the beach-goers slowly made their way home. It's so refreshing and salty. I always prefer the run and jump in method as opposed to wading slowly in. Yesterday Hannah and I (after a dusty hike with Vanessa along Will Rogers State Park) headed to the beach around 4pm and swam out as far as we could. There was actually a seal getting really playful and friendly who was swimming around the same area..it was really nice summer time moment.

It's officially the first day of summer! Looking out my window it doesn't feel like it--gray foggy morning. This will be my second summer this year..what a funny feeling! Right now I'm inspired by the tumblr Summer Goals cause it has me thinking about what I want to accomplish this summer (round 2)!
